Europe's meteorological satellite organization, Eumetsat, has canceled a planned March 15 meeting of its ruling council to permit the European Space Agency (ESA) to resolve lingering controversy over a $1.9 billion satellite contract, European government and industry officials said March 5.rnIt is the second time the 26-nation Eumetsat has been forced to cancel a council meeting intended to solicit funds from its member nations for the Meteosat Third Generation (MTG) sounding and imager satellites, to be launched into geostationary orbit starting around 2015.
