A law book is perhaps not everyone's choice of good reading, but Space Law: A Treatise, stands a good chance of becoming the exception. The publication of Lyall and Larsen's new work marks a timely addition to the hand-picked collection of works on space law currently available. Some excellent volumes on the subject were published over 30 to 40 years ago. This new publication can stake its claim among other recent works in 2009 as an authoritative legal contribution, alongside the older volumes, as another major reference work in the field. Written in English by two well-known academics, collaborating from both sides of the Atlantic, the book should attract many a new reader, from the versed scientist through to the practitioner and academic lawyer. It is a must for law library shelves and should be included as a recommended reading title for all law, science and engineering degree programmes.
