NASA's Space Shuttle programme is inexorably and swiftly headed towards its grand finale. Within the space of a few months in 2011, each of NASA's three surviving Shuttle orbiters are completing their history-making final flights, writes Ken Kremer. As the Space Shuttle Discovery was orbiting some 200 miles overhead on her final flight in March, preparations for the last flight of Space Shuttle Endeavour simultaneously moved into high gear. NASA's 'youngest' Shuttle was 'rolled over' a few hundred yards on a 76-wheeled transporter from her processing hanger at the Kennedy Space Center to the 52 story Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) on 28 February.
