A German Aerospace Centre (DLR) Texus 49 sounding rocket was launched from the Esrange Space Centre, Kiruna, in northern Sweden on 29 March 2011 carrying four German experiments for medical and materials research. It reached an altitude of 268 miles during a six minute flight after which the payloads parachuted back to Earth. The rocket was the Brazilian Centra Tecnico VSB-30 two stage launcher. Instituto de Aeronautica e Espaco (IAE), MORABA and the Swedish Space Corporation (SSC) were involved in this seventh Texas launch.
