Sir, Amidst our recent celebrations of Yuri Gagarin's epic Vostok-1 flight that occurred 50 years ago, it is worth thinking ahead another 50 years and speculating on what human spaceflight progress might have led to by 2061. In his novel 2061-Odyssey Three, Arthur C Clarke postulated on a human visit to Halley's Comet, with his hero Dr Heywood Floyd (now a sprightly 103-years-old) joining a group of wealthy space tourists onboard the spaceliner 'Universe' for a rendezvous with the famous comet on its return to the centre of the solar system.
