The argument of Unsimple truths can be portrayed as framed by three maxims: • Scientific representations of the world, and the methodologies that lead to the formation and consolidation of these representations, should conform with the way that the world is. • Adequate philosophy of science should be in touch with successful scientific practices and be able to make sense of their characteristic features and methodologies. • The formation and enactment of public policies, as well as the conduct of the practices-in technology, agriculture, etc-that shape the world we live in, should be informed by the most reliable, relevant scientific knowledge that can be made available.
