As much as anyone, Scott Bourne has a need to tell his story. And since moving his studio from St. Paul, Minnesota, to Tacoma, Washington, two years ago, he has been telling it powerfully through his fine-art photography. Bourne operates a full-service studio from a showcase location in downtown Tacoma. Situated atop the Old City Hall Building, his 3, 000-square-foot studio is actually a domed atrium whose glass ceiling and walls are notable for creating "one giant softbox." He offers wedding, portraiture, stock, and commercial work, even digital retouching and restoration. Yet, since moving to the Northwest, he has found himself increasingly relinquishing the daily studio work to his professional staff and dedicating more of his time to fine-art photography, much of it landscape and nature work.
