It is an incontrovertible fact that international relations studies offers a view of the world from a Western, mostly American and European, perspective. Where that leaves the rest of the world, and what its perception of the discipline is as a result, should be a matter of inquiry for scholars and practitioners. If globalisation is set to continue, as many assume it will, the study of international relations should itself become more global, and present a wider range of perspectives.
