Daniel P. Erikson has been making his mark on US policy toward Cuba for nearly a decade, both as a senior associate at the Inter-American Dialogue and in his extensive publications, including contributions to American news dailies and his first co-edited book, Transforming Socialist Economies: Lessons for Cuba and Beyond. Erikson's aim in this latest book - to give a full account of the gamut of challenges in contemporary US-Cuban relations - is ambitious. But he delivers. The Cuba Wars depends on the premise that 'Cuba matters a great deal, and it should matter a great deal to the United States'.
