摘要

Ninety-five fir and 69 ash trees, about 30 years old, which had been previously tapped by Red deer, were analyzed. The degree of tap haling was determined and measured as well as the wood value according to specific wood assortment (quality inspection). A fast rate of healing external damage (especially in ash trees) was observed, while at the same time rot developed in the direction of the pith of the butt. On the basis of wood blocks cut from sample trees (10 of each species) the range of hard and soft rot caused by tapping was determined. A comparison of wood value with defects (rot) due to tapping and without these defects showed that there was a 22.5/100 finanacial loss in fir and 25.7/100 loss in ash.
