Formation of biometric features of Norway spruce, black pine, European lareh, and common beech seedlings was investigated. The seedlings were produced in a container nursery at Kostrzyca in the years 1996 and 1997, while Scots pine seedlings were produced in the container nursery at Ngdza in 1997. The length of overground part and of roots, the diameter at the tree butt and the mass of overground parts and of roots were measured. The number of lateral offsprongs and the degree of pine seedling top bud formation were determined too. The proportion of deformations in seedling root systems was assessed.
