Ingénieur général des Fonts, des Eaux et des Forêts, Président des Conseils d'administration de la Société Française du Tunnel Routier de Fréjus (SFTRF), de I'ENTPE (École Nationale des Travaux Publics de I'État) et de LTF (Lyon-Turin Ferroviaire), Président du Conseil de surveillance des Aéroports de Lyon Lyon, au coeur de la région Rhône-Alpes, accueille en 2011, le 8~e Salon européen dédié aux systemes de transport intelligents. Cette localisation atteste de la place qu'occupent I'agglomeration lyonnaise et la région dans le domaine du transport en France et en Europe. Au carre-four des déplacements Nord-Sud ou Est-Ouest des personnes et des marchandises, cette région et cette ville, au cceur des flux et des réseaux transeuropeens, sont concernés par la plupart des grands enjeux de transport de voyageurs et de marchandises de notre Pays, et ce pour la quasi-totalité des modes; ils développent une activité politique, écono-mique, de recherche et d'enseignement, particulièrement forte et dynamique dans les domaines du transport collec-tif urbain, dans I'analyse multidisciplinaire de la mobilité : autour de ces champs, c'est tout un écosystème qui peu à peu prend forme et se structure progressivement sur ce territoire. This choice of location attests to the importance of greater Lyon and its region in all matters of transport in France and in Europe. They are key players in most of France's major challenges related to the transport of passengers and goods and are involved in almost all modes of transport. Political, economic, research and education-related activities are growing up in the area and are particularly strong and dynamic in the fields of urban public transportation and multidisciplinary mobility analysis.
