The hour-long program of the MARC Formats Transition Interest Group began with introductions from the co-chairs, Carolyn Hansen and Victoria Mueller. An updated group charge was presented, stressing empowerment and community engagement. Specific components of the charge included identifying and learning about MARC transition projects; creating a community to discuss best practices; discussing challenges and successes around MARC transition; and raising awareness around BIBFRAME as a standard for transition.
