A comprehensive range of mesh and spiral fabric belts for the forming, drying and bonding of nonwovens is to be showcased at Index 20 by GKD - Gebr. Kufferath AG (GKD) of Diiren, Germany. In particular, the company will focus on: an electrostatic dissipative belt (Conducto 7690); hybrid fabric belts with anti-stick coatings. The Conducto 7690 belt comprises a fabric woven from polyester (PES) monofilaments and metallic multifilaments, and GKD says that it is one-to-ten times more able to dissipate electrostatic charges than conventional belts. The flexible, stainless- steel yarn is woven into the back of the belt so that it does not come into contact with the product, and it does not corrode or exhibit bending fatigue. These properties make the belts suitable for the manufacture of sophisticated medical and hygiene products.
