Advanced Functional Fabrics of America (AFFOA) is a private-public initiative founded on 1 April 2016 with the goal of driving innovation in US textile and fibre manufacturing. For its first five years, AFFOA has a budget of US$317 million, comprising funding from its members, and federal and state grants, including US$75 million from the federal government via the Department of Defense (DoD)~((1)).
