More than 25% of global textile production is now dedicated to technical textiles, according to a market report from Commerzbank of Frankfurt, Germany. In Germany, the share is 50%, probably more. The report's author, Corporate Sector Analyst, Jiirgen Grebe says that throughout the period 2007-2013, covering the start of the global financial crisis, the growth of the technical textiles sector in Europe was stronger than the region's economy as a whole. Nevertheless, in the early years of the crisis, the technical textiles sector still experienced significant slumps.
