Six customers in the European markets for automotive, work-wear and military fabrics, with a combined sales potential of US$15-20 million in the next 12-18 months, are already being targeted following the signing of an agreement between Alexium International and iTextiles. Alexium is the developer of a surface treatment that can add a variety of functionalities to textiles. The company, which has its headquarters in Perth, Australia, and its manufacturing based in Greer, South Carolina, USA, says it has long wanted to enter the European markets and has chosen to take its first steps by concluding a sales and distribution deal for its flame-retardant (FR) products with iTextiles, a specialist in sourc-ing textiles and related technologies based in Karachi, Pakistan.
