Archroma of Reinach, Switzerland, has completed its acquisition of BASF's global business for textile chemicals. Archroma says the business it has purchased has technologies and products across the full spectrum of textile chemicals, with particular strengths in printing, finishing and coating. The acquisition is also described as a strategic fit with the product portfolio and geographical presence of Archroma's existing Textile Specialties business; for instance, the former BASF business will further strengthen the new owner's presence in Asia; Archroma's strong sales organization in America will benefit the acquired products in a region where BASF Textile Chemicals was relatively weak.
