At its facility in Benson, North Carolina, USA, Polymer Group Inc (PGI) is installing a second nonwovens line capable of producing hydroentangled fabrics made with its Spinlace technology, and bearing three-dimensional (3D) images created by its Apex process for adding functional and aesthetic effects. The company, which has its headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina, expects the line to be running commercially by the end of the third quarter 2014 adding 300 million m~2 of annual capacity, which is to be sold around the world. Applications for the fabrics include commercial wipes, wipes for the home and personal care, and health and hygiene.
