From the early 1990s,many textile manufacturers have had to reinvent themselves as producers of innovative high-technology products in order to survive.The emergence of globalization, specialization, nanotechnology, developments in composites and advances in nonwovens are among the major changes such businesses have encountered since the first issue of this magazine appeared in May 1992. To mark its forthcoming 21st anniversary of publication, its coming-of-age, TechnicalTextiles International has invited a group of key industry observers to express their opinions on these developments.
