A hard armour product based on a para-aramid fibre was launched at the Eurosatory exhibition for defence and security, held on 11-15 June 2012, in Paris, France. Twaron UD21 is a composite laminate consisting of two layers of unidirectional aramid (called Twaron) fibre aligned at 90° to one another, according to the developer,Teijin Aramid of Arn-hem, The Netherlands.
