Worldwide the fibre industry continues to grow at about 3-4% a year, even in the context of the challenging macroeconomic climate and associated global volatility, according to the President of the Austrian Man-made Fibers Institute, FriedrichWeninger.rnGlobally, the market for fibres has a volume of about 80 Mt a year, and Weninger predicts it will break the threshold of 100 Mt within a few years. China is a key figure, a dominant force in terms of volumes, as well as a significant influence on the quality and price of fibres.
