Teijin ltd claims it has established the world's first mass-production technologies for carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP). The company from Tokyo, Japan, reports that its breakthrough allows it to reduce the cycle time for moulding cabin frames for automobiles to less than one minute.The time needed for moulding complicated structures is one of the biggest challenges faced by the composites industry and Teijin believes its work represents a long stride toward the use of carbon fibre for the mass production of automobiles and other products.
