Lenzing, which has its headquarters in the Austrian town of the same name, has completed the expansion of capacity for its lyocell fibre,Tencel,at its production facility in Heiligenkreuz,Austria. The company, which makes high-quality cellulose fibres from wood for the textiles and non- wovens industries, says capacity is now 60 kt a year, having increased by a total of 25 kt a year in several stages over the last three years. The expansion at the plant, which now employs more than 200 staff, cost the company about €60 million. Worldwide, Lenzing's annual capacity forTencel is now 140 kt.
