India's hospitality sector is poised to be an important market for the country's technical textile industry, especially that part manufacturing textiles for use in the home. Some products - such as blackout fabrics, carpets and carpet-backing cloths, coated upholstery (with special functionalities, such as antimicrobial and anti-stain), pillows (fiberfill) and awnings - are already being used to a large extent. Other textiles, such as flame-retardant (FR) fabrics, are in use, but still have unfulfilled potential, and there are yet more, such as artificial turf, still to find acceptance.
