摘要

A new fabric incorporating a nanostructured fibre for use in advanced firefighting suits has been developed in Japan.The resulting suits are 40% more effective in preventing second- and third-degree burns, and 15% lighter in weight than conventional heat-barrier linings, according to their manufacturer, Japan's Teijin Techno Products.The nanostructured fibre is made by kneading nanosized carbon particles into Technora, a high-performance para-aramid fibre offering high strength, heat resistance, dimensional stability and chemical resistance.
