As part of the centenary year celebrations of the Textile Institute, UK, and with the timely theme of Managing Innovation in Textiles, the Technical Textiles Special Interest Group and Manchester and Cheshire Section of the Textile Institute, supported by the Materials Knowledge Transfer Network (KTN), produced a wide ranging conference in Manchester (10-11 June 2010) covering the most exciting new markets for technical and industrial textiles. Technology and high performance applications were major areas of special interest to those in the technical textiles sector, and the 80 delegates learned how innovative ideas with market potential could be converted into products to serve existing and new applications.
