The US Army has issued orders to the manufacturer, SNCT, for Combat Uniforms, made from TenCate's Gen2~(TM) fabrics. To be generated mostly in 2009, this latest order represents $35 million of revenue for TenCate, a multinational company, based in The Netherlands, which combines expertise in textile technology and chemical processes to develop and manufacture specialist materials. TenCate Gen2 is made from aramid fibres. TenCate's other principal fabric for military applications is Defender~(TM)M, which is primarily made of viscose fibre, Lenzing~R FR, see also, Technical Textiles International, March/April 2008, Lenzing wins right to supply US military with Austrian fibre, page 4.
