Reducing the use of water and energy in textile finishing is important for the image ofrnthe industry and to protect the environment, and has the added advantage of makingrncommercial, economic sense, according to Benninger's Stephan Kehry.rnEnvironmental awareness has long ceased to be the preserve of production plants in Europe. In the so-called developing countries too, authorities are focusing increasingly on big polluters. Unfortunately, in this respect, textile wet finishing has an extremely bad reputation worldwide. However, there is hope that an integrated concept from Swiss textile machinery manufacturer Benninger, which can run without producing any waste water at all, could provide the solution.
