Despite present circumstances in the more traditional textile markets for man-made fibres, widespread interest in higher performance fibres in the automotive, aeronautical, marine, geotextile and civil engineering, protective apparel, medical, other industrial sectors, and high-performance apparel sectors continues to develop globally. This is resulting in a demand for suitable, and more versatile, fibre production and processing machinery. As the cost of higher performance polymers and other raw materials imposes greater emphasis on curtailing waste, the need for more cost-efficient machinery and equipment assumes greater importance. The same factor also strengthens the drive to the installation of more automated control systems to guarantee the production of precisely specified products.
