The market for technical textiles, which currently stands at around 30 million tons, excluding composites and nonwovens, will continue to grow steadily in the future. Against the background of rising raw material prices, increasing scarcity of raw materials, but also due to growing environmental awareness and new legal regulations, topics such as resource efficiency, circular economy and recycling, also in the case of technical textiles, are increasingly coming to the fore. What is already common practice in the clothing sector will sooner or later also be transferred to the field of technical textiles. In addition, a significant increase in the recycling rate is a declared goal of the German Federal Government.
