Incessant and economical technique for in-situ preparation of metallic-nano on/in polyester fabric

摘要

The textile wet processing industry, normally seen as a traditional industry, needs nowadays to fight against increased competition from the global market. There is a general recognition that traditional processing techniques may be no longer sufficient to sustain a viable business and the textile industries have to move towards more innovative and high-quality products. New materials and technologies promote the development of high-tech textiles, characterized by unprecedented functions and effects. Nanoscaled copper, silver, and zinc (10-100 nm) were prepared on/in polyester fabric by continuous in-situ techniques. The presence of metal nano on/in the polyester fabric was quantitatively and qualitatively analyzed and confirmed by the SEM and XRF techniques. This can be a promising alternative for conventional textile wet processing at an industrial level since it is an effective way of improving physical and functional properties and can be a cost-effective option to the conventional processing treatments. This process needs to be a further investigation for its complete understanding and optimization.
