At the Techtextil, Mitsubishi Chemical Corp., Tokyo/Japan, exhibited its acrylic fiber specialties. Corebrid is an anti-static acrylic staple fiber manufactured by a proprietary sheath-core spinning technology. Because staple fibers have more fiber ends than filament yarns, they allow more frequent corona discharge and improve static elimination efficiency. Corebrid can be made into spun yarn and nonwoven fabric. It is also possible to blend with polyester or other staple fibers.
