An extra-conductive carbon nanofiber (CNF) was developed in a partnership between fiber manufacturer Teijin Fibers Ltd, Tokyo/ Japan and Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tokyo/Japan. The nanofiber has an unprecedented structure with its elliptical cross-section consisting of graphite layers ordered in a single direction.The extra-conductive CNF has a length of 20 urn, 10 times that of conventional CNF and a diameter measuring a maximum 100-300 nm and a minimum 50-100 nm.
