World production of PP and PE fibers (includ ing tapes and spunbonds) reached 5.7 mil lion tons in 2009, whereby 2.5 million tons (-8%) were filament yarns (including mono filaments), 1 million tons (±0%) staple fibers and 2.2 million tons (-3%) tapes (Table).
