The spunbond division of Freudenberg Non wovens NA, Durham, NC/USA, will recycle 12.4 million PET plastic bottles this year and is starting up an idled spunlaid line to produce Lutradur ECO. This industrial backing is made from 100% post consumer recycled plastic and is produced in company facilities that recycle scrap through a closed-loop manu facturing process. Freudenberg's Durham fa cility recycles over 9,000 tons/year of waste polyester.
