The Institute of Textile Technology and Process Engineering Denkendorf (ITV) in Denkendorf/Germany, has developed a textile protection against skidding in cooperation with the RUD group, Aalen/Germany. The new instant protection against skidding ensures the continuation of one's journey on suddenly occurring wintry road conditions. A textile high-tech material, which fulfils the special requirements on ice thanks to the use of a new yarn specifically developed at the ITV for this purpose, guarantees an optimal grip behavior. The product that was presented for the first time on the Automechanika in September, is the result of many years' cooperation between the RUD group and the ITV Denkendorf. The partnership proved to be ideal concerning the development of a new tire covering: RUD contributed many years of experience as snow chain specialist. Also, the ITV provided the textile know-how - from the fiber via fabric up to making-up technology. The requirements for an optimal traction help on wintry roads were defined together. The aim of the common work was the development of a new textile protection against skidding, which should stand out against traction behavior, mileage and function (mounting) of previous systems, and which especially should offer a solution in the case of suddenly occurring black ice.
