Healthy functions of bamboo-charcoal modified polyesters with silver ions

There are 5 healthy functions incorporated effectively in bamboo-charcoal modified polyesters with silver ions (BSP). The metal elements and carburets are mainly responsible for far-infrared. UV prevention function results mainly from the carbon elements. The antibacterial function lies in the porous structures and silver ions. The deodorizing function lies in the porous structures. The silver ions, other metal elements and benzene rings play an important role for anti-electromagnetic radiation. Bamboo-charcoal modified polyesters (BP) have many good health functions, such as good far-infrared radiation, good UV protection, certain negative ion emission and good deodorizing functions. But its anti-bacterial function is limited because the majority of bamboo-charcoal powders are closed in the fibers and can not touch the bacteria directly. Anti-bacterial function is remarkably improved when silver ions are added into them. Meanwhile anti-electromagnetic radiation function is also improved. The part components of bamboo-charcoal modified polyesters with silver ions (BSP) are tested by ICP-AES and the results are listed in Table 1. Fig. 1 shows an electronic scanned figure of BSP.
