According to the China Nonwovens Technical Association (CNTA) and the China National Nonwovens Information Center (CNIN), 615,000 tons of nonwovens were produced in China in 2003, compared with the production of 497,000 tons in 2002 (Table 1). This shows a marked increase in production of nearly 24% and sets a new record for China's nonwovens production, tn 2003, all spunbond plants and melt-blown lines were producing nonwovens in full capacity, including those manufacturers who did not produce at full capacity in 2001 and 2002.
