The United States is already using biomass farms to create an ethanol additive to gasoline. The source crop for this can be corn or wheat. In this challenge, students will design a biomass farm layout that can be co-used with a wind farm. The biomass will be used to fuel an on-site electric power plant that will supplement the wind turbine output.
