Biological and agricultural engineering has existed for millennia. Current modifications at the genetic level can trace their origins to macro practices. Students can be introduced to this topic by developing an understanding of the practice of grafting apple trees. It is important for students to understand current agricultural practices and their implications; they may be required to find solutions, revolutionizing crops and production techniques, making all more viable and sustainable.
