摘要

After making the transition from classroom teacher to working for the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) in 2009, and with respect to technology education, I was asked to accomplish one task-purposefully align instruction, assessment, and professional development for Technology Education programs across the state. In my previous seven years of employment, I had worked as a middle and high school technology and engineering education teacher. Aside from some graduate classes, I had limited experience in educational administration and, frankly, less understanding of the business behind educational programming. Needless to say, "I felt well prepared for my job." Fortunately, I received some good guidance and support, which helped me grow in my position.
