Projectiles provide a great context for implementing a STEM design challenge, as they employ mathematics and science principles through engineering and technology. Furthermore, the projectile design can be further developed with many STEM concepts such as material strength, velocity, budgeting, etc. The success of this challenge was due largely in part to the opportunity the students had to perform a redesign on their projectile. Another measure of success of this challenge was the fact that it was enjoyed by both the students and instructors!
