About five years ago, the Technology Educators Association of New Jersey (TEANJ) and an alliance of business trade associations got serious about bringing some legislative attention to technology education at the state level. Since that time, we here in New Jersey have been directly involved with at least three major changes in the education landscape in New Jersey when it comes to technological literacy. I hope to relate some of the background and experience we have had with the hope that we will continue to see similar initiatives taken in other states and continue to grow the valuable field of technology education throughout the United States.
