Do you know why most of the professionals prefer speakers made of wood over their other counterparts? This is because wood has an advantage over fiberboard when it comes to quality sound output. So far this quality sound was just restricted to high-end speakers, but now Genius has come up with an affordable low-end version of wooden speakers. It is the HF 2.1 1200, a 2.1 speaker set which includes one 5.25" sub woofer and two satellite speakers. Both the woofer and speakers are made up of wood, and they sport an elegant black and grey exterior. The ergonomics of this speaker set are good, only thing that bothered us was the placement of volume and bass controls, Genius' designers have awkwardly placed them on the side of the sub woofer.
