The Iomega ScreenPlay HD has been created to fill the void of high definition content in our lives. Especially for those with full HD and HD ready flat panel displays, the lack of proper HD content is a big bugbear. Don't have an upscaling DVD player or Blu-Ray player for your flat panel TV? Or are you struggling with hard drive space to store all your video files? The Iomega ScreenPlay HD solves both problems in one clean sweep. It's essentially a hard drive casing with direct A/V output capabilities. Not only can you store tons of photos, music and videos on the drive (transfers from PC via USB 2.0), it can upscale videos to better suit an HDTV when connected using Component or HDMI cables. The remote control is a welcome bonus; you can control all the media on it while sitting on the couch. And it works a treat! Even though the interface is a little basic, it gets the job done. It could have done with support for Matroska (MKV) and Windows Media Video (WMV) video file formats though.
