摘要

Why does a PC need RAM? How much should I have depending on various needs? Random Access Memory (RAM) is needed by a PC to speed up the system processing. The PC loads programs on the RAM reducing the need to access data off the hard drive again and again. Whenever you run a program, say a Word processor, the system loads the executable file onto the RAM which not only speeds up the application but negates the need to keep reading and writing data from the hard disk. Reading and writing data off the hard disk, in comparison to the RAM, is also a slower process.
