Intex has been lately creating noise in the market with some decent looking entry-level mobile handsets. Their latest offering is the Intex IN 5544, a golden colored phone with a silver navigation pad. The overall form factor and design is ok but the weird golden and silver combination makes it appear tacky. And add to it the numeric keypad which lights up in bright blue when the keys are pressed, and you might feel like smacking the person who designed it. Now coming to the overall design and performance; sadly this one leaves much to be desired. All the keys and buttons are small; big trouble for guys with big hands. The number keypad, the center select key and even the volume and camera shutter keys placed on the edge are smaller than usual. I literally had to use my nails to press the keys properly. And typing SMSes on it was a pain.
