Almost half a decade ago, Sony gave us a short glimpse of Killzone 2, their dark and misty answer to the legendary Halo franchise. According to the Universal Gaming Calendar, if such a thing does exist, a period of four years is as long as an eternity. But thankfully, the long, the never ending, and the utmost enduring sense of anticipation has finally been put to rest, as Guerilla Games' stupendously gritty shooter is now in the hands of those who've deserved it all along. And for respite of the fans and the anticipatory committee, including myself, it is an absolute brute. Killzone 2 delivers the kind of close combative fire fights that I've never experienced before in any action FPS title. With its face-meltingly intense campaign and incredibly robust MP component, it not only rewards us for our patience in the most overwhelming way possible, but also manages to exceed the expectations of its predecessor and the highly glorified and scrutinized E3 2005 trailer.
