Compact hard drives are common these days, and the NoTouch portable is also such a compact hard drive. Its built quality is impressive-the manufacturers have even incorporated air vents at the bottom to make sure that the 2.5" Fujitsu hard drive inside doesn't get heated to dangerous levels. The concept of including the air vents in the drive itself is great, but it poses the threat of dust particles getting accumulated inside the drive. Another gripe that I have is with the glossy casing of the drive; it is a fingerprint magnet which is a big no-no for me. As far as performance is concerned, this HDD does nothing exceptionally; it performed just average. It gave us a read speed of 8 - 9 MB/s with bursts of up to 10.6 MB/s in HD Tach benchmark and real time data transfer. In the Everest Read speed suite, average read speed was around 12 MB/s. Compared to the Western Digital Passport drive, which is also available at the same price, the NoTouch hard drive is no match in terms of performance. In fact, the Western Digital drive is more compact and will fit easily into your pocket.
